Boone County does not operate a verified adult jail under the generic name “Boone County Jail.” Adults arrested in Boone are normally routed through Southwestern Regional Jail and Correctional Facility, a WVDCR regional facility in Holden. WVDCR, the court, the arresting agency, and VINE may each hold a different part of the event. The strongest conclusion joins the facility record to the court case and states the next destination.
“Released” can mean bond, recognizance, time served, sentence discharge, a dismissal order, parole, or a court-ordered move to probation. It can also be used loosely when a person merely leaves one building. Discharge means the agency records an end to a term or status. Time served means custody credit satisfies the jail part ordered by a court. Parole is conditional release from incarceration. Donald R. Kuhn Juvenile Center creates the opposite geographic pattern. It sits in Julian within Boone County and serves youth from all 55 West Virginia counties, but it is not Boone's adult jail. Authorized family and counsel should use the juvenile case and agency contacts that govern the placement. Adult search results cannot establish a youth's status. The physical presence of Kuhn in Boone must not merge statewide juvenile cases into Boone County released inmate results.
Boone Regional Parole Release Delay
A parole grant for a person in a regional jail begins a process rather than proving immediate physical release. ICE's locator covers current and recent ICE detention within its stated limits. An ICE detainer can turn release from Southwestern into a custody handoff.
U.S. Marshals records are different again. There is no public former-prisoner locator like BOP's. Use the federal docket first and a focused USMS records request if the federal pretrial disposition remains unclear. These exception routes should not replace Southwestern and Boone court records for an ordinary local case.
